Welcome to the Ohio News Photographers Association

For over 50 years this non-profit organization has brought together professional newspaper, magazine and television photographers to advance the profession.

ONPA members have been the visual recorders of history in Ohio during this period - both still and video. The contest archives housed at Ohio State University chronicle life in our state.

Membership offers many programs and advantages

  • The annual still and TV picture contests lets members have their work judged against the best in the state.
  • The monthly clip contest tests the daily work of still photographers and the job each does in communicating with the reader.
  • The Larry Fullerton Photojournalism Scholarship rewards promising young photojournalists with money to continue their education
  • The annual convention and educational seminar brings in top flight photojournalists, editors and educators to share their knowledge and experience.
  • The annual Buckeye Television Workshop offers a day of hands on experience in shooting and editing stories for local newscasts.

For professional photojournalists and students in both print and video fields, ONPA is one organization you need to be a part of. Use the Online Application to join today.
